Uili Beier

As a writer, scholar and teacher, Ulli Beier's career has been dedicated to the nurture and promotion of indigenous arts and literatures, particularly that of Nigeria and Papua New Guinea. Now based in Australia, he has lived and worked in Africa, Papua New Guinea and Germany, where he was director of Iwalewa Haus, a centre for contemporary art, music and culture from Africa, Asia and the Pacific at the University of Bayreuth.
