Jan Borrie began her working life in the library of a metropolitan newspaper and has since worked as an editor and writer for newspapers and magazines. Her first novel, Verge, was published in 1998 and her short fiction and poetry has been widely published. She was born in Cooma, grew up in Canberra and has lived on the Atherton Tableland in Far North Queensland, in Townsville and Melbourne. She currently lives in the Snowy Mountains of New South Wales.
