Michael Goddard

Michael Goddard is a Senior Lecturer in Anthropology in the School of Humanities, University of Newcastle, Australia. He conducted PhD fieldwork in the Upper Kaugel Valley, in the Western Highlands Province of Papua New Guinea, in 1985/86. Since 1990 he has been engaged in research in and around PNG's capital city or Port Moresby, and on the country's "village court" system. He has published extensively on topics including madness and psychiatry, village courts and urban settlements. This is his first book.
