Following careers as a wine merchant in England and an academic librarian in Western Australia, Christopher Hill began a small business in Bali exporting handicrafts. He started meeting artists and collecting paintings and soon developed a serious interest in Balinese art and culture which he pursued by studying Indonesian language and completing a Masters at Murdoch University. He lives in Perth where he is also involved in West Australian contemporary art.
