S. K. Kelen was born in Sydney the year television and the Olympics first came to Australia. He started writing in 1970 and first published in Poetry Australia in 1973. Since then his poems have been published widely in Australia and overseas. His previously books include Shimmerings (2000), and Goddess of Mercy (2002).
